new job? sort of?

I'm going to do you all a favor and not really write about Christmas, mainly because I have no gift guides or cute christmas card photos or funny santa stories.

It's also because I have no time to like...sit and compose something meaningful.

I'm working today at the tattoo shop (yes, lots of people get tattooed on Christmas eve. and I have really important things to do at the tattoo store like get my boss mustache wax so he can have a curly mustache...no, seriously I went to five stores yesterday trying to find the right type of wax. Did you know they come tinted sometimes? It's like dredlock wax, basically. But unscented and more expensive.)

And tonight and tomorrow I'm starting this new thing called a 'second job'.

Kind of.

It's helping a post-doc at the University with her research. Which sounds way fancier than it really is...except I can say I get paid $75 an hour.

Sort of.

What I do is watch videos of something and transcribe what everybody is saying at ten second intervals.

And I get paid by the video hour, not real time.

But still...it's more money than I've ever made before, even if it takes me four hours per video hour. (isn't that sad?)

I wish I could tell you guys more about what I'm transcribing but I signed all these confidentiality things because it's an ongoing experiment. But I think it's going to be super funny.

So yeah, have a great holiday. I'll probably get bored of transcriptioning and want to write more later on, or tell you about all our sweet presents or whatevskies so
