I've noticed a huuuuge amount of woman bashing going on in blog land lately.
And the craziest part is that it's mainly girl-bloggers that I read!
Dudes. Seriously. Cut it out.
Sweeping remarks on how girls hate sports or love shoes and hair product are not winning you any favors over here. Stop quoting Cosmo magazine and stressing the importance of eye liner when you're out on the all important first date. OMG if he doesn't ask you on a second date you might as well kill yourself! You'd better demean yourself and have perky breasts when you're 30 or else nobody will love you!
I've been tempted to unsubscribe to three of you recently because of it.
Get this through your retarded brainwashed skulls: There is nothing wrong with being feminist.
Feminist does not mean "MAN HATING BUTCH"
You can love yourself and participate in society without being a vapid sexualized tart with no brains who totally loves shopping and junk!
Have some respect for yourself and women everywhere. Think about what you say before you post.

While I'm back on the topic of things I don't like reading about, here's another:
anti-veganism.
It's so hot right now, to mock vegans. And it's so hilarious to say things like "I'm a carnivore and vegans are unhealthy, LOL stupid vegans, they're so stupid and self-riteous and stupid."
You know what? Maybe some are but once again you are making sweeping generalizations about a huge group of people. I happen to admire the vegans I know for their commitment to animal rights causes.
I'm a vegetarian. Is that funny to you? Is it "totally lame" that I don't like eating dead bodies? Have you ever asked yourself why you feel that way about vegans and vegetarians? Because I bet you can't come up with a solid reason other than "they're different".
It's not funny. Cut it out.
(no idea who this guy is)
p.s. to all my vegan/vegetarian brethern - you may need this over the holidays:

I mean really! You're so right... *steps back slowly*
:)
I was a full on vegetarian (not vegan) since I was 15 till last year when I succumbed to the bacon. The thing I hated (and still hate) is that restaurants look at you like "No meat?" as though you just suggested their mum fucked a pig. And how people think it perfectly ok when you don't eat meat, to give you something non meaty with GRAVY on it or cooked in animal fat. WTF?
I think a lot of the super-girly "I'm not a feminist" rhetoric comes from vapid airheads who think it's "cool." Um, no it just makes you look like an idiot because you don't even know what the word "feminist" even means.
@va ha! or when you ask if they have any vegetarian food and they're like "salad" and you say FINE I'LL HAVE A FUCKING SALAD and then they bring you a plate of iceburg lettuce with three shreds of carrots and go "omigod i don't know how you can be vegetarian"
@dingo YES. But I want them to stop, haha.
People who are that invested in putting other people down aren't worth your time.
Next time I meet one I'm going to wait until they turn around and then I'm going to punch them in the kidney. A kidney bruise is like a constant reminder to be kind to others.
@vic I think a kidney bruise would also be fatal?
I hate some of my students' parents. I'm not sure what that makes me though.
That's why I only make fun of myself. You normal people have all those awful feelings that can get hurt.
*fist in the air* (about the first part)
I don't get the harassment between vegetarians/vegans and the carnivorous. What someone else eats is really none of my business unless they're a cannibal, in which case, I TASTE TERRIBLE!!!!
My grandma has been attempting to pour gravy all over my food at every holiday for 20 some years.
It's not a new decision for me, I've been a vegetarian since before I can remember (except for 8 months during my pregnancy with Rose where I ate bacon everyday). My father is a vegetarian and my mother is what she calls a 'most of the time' vegetarian. We were raised pretty strictly as vegetarians (every once in a while my mom would make soups with chicken or crab stock).
I did recently start eating fish...when it's at a japanese place. New rule! Much better than the eight months of bacon thing though.
@ jules me neither. but commenting it here makes you sort of random. so that's something.
@kurt hahaha yep. and we all love making fun of you.
@mona exactly! it's like people are threatened by it for some reason. I'm especially sensitive to the hate because my family is a bunch of defensive omnivores (haha). The only reason I'm sad about missing Christmas dinner with them is not being able to play that bingo game.
@erin haha stupid gravy. And yeah, I'm not the vegetarian police. You and VA there can eat whatever you want. Just don't hate on me for not eating meat, that's all I ask.
1. Who are these Girls you are reading?
2. Stop reading them!
Also, I heart vegans. More meat for me.
@ginny yeah, I'm considering re-evaluating the blogs I follow. Some of them just depress me on a daily basis. Why would I do that to myself?
girl hating is lame. i do love shoes though *wistful sigh* combining them with hate and dumbassery is not cool. i fully support you!
and i have a new found sympathy for the ignorance people have of food. people are always shocked *i* can't have gravy... um, hello? flour? in the gravy? i can't trust anyone :)
Cosmo makes me want to throw up all over a penis.
@bectastic are you celiac?
